install problem with platinum 7.6.b.4v2

hi sorry if this is in the wriong place but i need help with an intall problem with platinum.
i have uploaded all files put in data base name ect into the gconfig file.
imported the files to my sql .
but in my control panel i go to my php admin and in the command box
for the platinum data base,
the install instructions tell me to type in
Execute platinum.sql
wen i do this i get an error message as below
'#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'execute platinum.sql' at line 1

i have read the manual and cant find the write thing to type in if that is the problem can any body plzhelp as it drivinng me crazy ..

Welcome.

"Execute platinum.sql" means that you must import the platinum.sql in your phpMyAdmin, or copy and paste the SQL statements.

hi thnx for the fast reply,
i have tried using the command Execute platinum.sql
and it just wont accept it.
is this the correct command to start the install process ,
the version of my sql is 4.0

There is no command "Execute". platinum.sql is a text file that contains a bunch of SQL statements. You can load it and click the execute button in phpMyAdmin. See the link above for more details.

hi do u mean to import the data as i have done this by importing the sql file that came with platinum.
but wen i point my browser at http://www.britishbulldogs.clanservers.com/admin.php i get nothing

sorry for all the questions but i have very limited knowledge of sql ..

Actually, you get an error message that says there is a problem with MySQL. That means your config.php file isn't setup with the correct database name, database user, and / or database password.
