intalling/ using

Hi folks, I am a newbie at this and was wondering if someone could give me the basics of how to install this.

Well, basically ....

I will assume that you have Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL already installed.

- Unzip/untar phpnuke package.
- Using phpMyAdmin, create a database I'd just call it nuke.
- Select the database and click the SQL tab to get the SQL window.
- Click the Browse button and point it to your directory where you unzipped nuke. There will be a folder called sql. In that is a file called nuke.sql. Select it. Then click the GO button in phpMyAdmin. That will install the database tables.
- Create a database user and give that user permission to access the database you created.
- Now, back in the unzipped files find the config.php file. Edit it and add the database name, database user, and database password.
- FTP the nuke html folder contents to your root web directory. If you want to install it in a subdirectory, that is ok too.
- Now point your browser to http://yourwebsite.com (or to the directory where the config.php file is located) and if all has gone according to plan, you should see the Nuke Congratulations screen. At that point, follow the instructions on that screen.
- If something doesn't work, report back here and someone will help you.
