I am running RavenNuke76 v2.02.02 FULL

I am creating one big site for multiple "projects", if you will.

I can assign members to groups to control Downloads permissions.

I can assign permissions for the group members for certain forums within Forums.

How can I assign group permissions so that the group members can see only the members in their group when going to the Members List module? I don't want members from one group to see the members from another group.

Thank you very much for any assistance!

Sorry, as far as I know thats not possible using the core code. You would need to alter the sql call in the Members List module to include a WHERE clause dependant on the user Group.
In english, display the list of members where the member is in the same group as the user (assuming you do not have individuals who are in multiple groups - then it gets messy).

Out of curiosity as I haven't really used Groups much, if you select the 'Groups' module link in the main menu, does it display all users in their or only users in specific groups if they are a member of that Group?

Its a good idea to display the members list only for admins to prevent different kind of spam.

If the status of the group is public and not hidden everybody can see the usergroup at the top of the forum.
There are different settings in the forums administration.
In the modules administration you can set who is allowed to view (What Groups: View must be SET to Groups Only) the memberlist. Smile

Susann, I know that I can set what groups to see the Members List in the modules Administration, but what I am wanting to do is this:

Group 1 has members A, B, and C.

Group 2 has members X, Y, and Z.

When members from Group 1 click on Members List to e-mail or PM another member, I DO NOT want them to be able to see members X, Y, and Z from Group 2.

Does that make sense?

Thanks!

Alright, I figured it out.

I made the Members List Module viewable only to Admin.

I created Usergroups called Group 1 and Group 2.

I added members to each group.

When logged in as a member from Group 1, I click on Usergroups and I see that I am a member of Group 1 and I see ONLY members from Group 1, which is what I wanted to do!

Thanks everyone for the help! I thought I should post how I figured it out!

For other's sake, just a point of clarification: by "Usergroups", timallen82 is referring to what Susann had mentioned as the Forum groups. When you go to forums, there is a "Usergroups" link towards to top. From here, you can see the groups that you are a member of, click on "View Information" and see a very Private Message looking display of the other users in that group.
