Just seen this site
http://www.nuke-theme.com/main.htm
I was wondering how it can be done.
The idea is to have the same sort of thing where people can sign up to a specific design of nuke site and have it as a sub domain of a main site.
Yes you can probably do manual installs, but this site looks like it does it all automatically.
Obviously hosting would need to be arranged etc

well if you have a few bucks left...
PHP-Nuke MultiCMS
This allows you to run a PHPnuke hosting service
$50 USD One Time
http://www.advantiscript.com/license/browse_products.php
But realise you have to guard your stuff the whole time..
Even i can signup, behave for a month and after that abuse the whole stuff. |

I thought it was fun creating an account so i did.
Unfortunately they added ads in the center that you cannot remove.
Infact you cannot do very much at all.
This wont last long, trust me... |

ok, what if i have an idea want to do this sort of thing and utilise ravens hosting, is there a php nuke mod to control the front end?
also, are you saying the above is a bit dodgy, or was the nuke-theme link a bit suspect?

Well i dont think (atleast thats what i think) that raven wouldnt allow this .

i have no idea nor alternative then just giving the advice not to start this cause it wouldnt do you any good.
I'll explain...
about 500.000 hosting companies in the u.s provide all kinds of hosting packages etc...
Some even for $1 a month or less.
Domain names can get bought just as cheap.
So this type of "fake service" is complately out-dated..
The site you posted nuke-theme.com is doing this for 1 reason, and thats because of the money he think is gonna make using the google adsense refer program.
It works like: you click on that banner, you signup at google adsense..
When you reach the first $100 HE also gets $100.
Not to mention the other adsense he has on the free sites...lol
Now why should anyone even signup? |

You can always ask Raven in his "pre-sales" web hosting forum... |

thx again hitwalker. Its always the thought that the idea you have is going to be the 'one'
I'm pretty much against having popups and too much advertising on sites.
I like the concept of how the nuke-theme front control panel works. I suppose it would be better if it could be used by admins only. Atleast you wouldn't end up with loads of useless sites. Hopefully only the ones you want.
It might be back to the drawing board anyway.
thx again

Well I suppose people who don't have hosting or who don't want to pay anything for a site... can get a free phpnuke site.
Even if it does have google ads... your still getting a free nuke site... what could be wrong with that... ???
I tried it and I though it was pretty cool... totally free... dosent seem to be any catch... and has about 200 templates to choose from... all in all it looks totally legit to me... good for nuke beginners too I would think.
It also has Live TV and Radio modules.... VERY cool |

Its funny, that MultiCMS site has their demo phpNukes getting hacked. I guess its not even a patched version they are selling. So sad.
I like phpNuke because of the customizations. I can go in and fiddle with any of the code. Any such free service that doesn't give full control over things isn't worth it. You get what you pay for... |
