I'm having some problems related to PHPBB. My RavenNuke installation was a downgrade from PHPNuke 7.8. I had already upgraded th PHPBB to version 2.0.21 before doing the conversion.
When I receive an emailed notification of a new post in a topic, the link provided in the email does not go directly to the topic. It takes me to my account page instead.
For example a link like this in the email
http://bkkok.com/forum/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=127#127
starts out opening that link, but switches to
http://www.bkkok.com/forum/modules.php?name=Your_Account&redirect=viewtopic&p=127
and shows the "Your Account" page, not the topic.
Also, I have lost the ability to create stickies and announcements in Forum Topics.
Anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be great. Couldn't find any related posts by searching.
My apology if this post should have been in the BBtoNuke category or somewhere else- mods can move it if needed.
Rgds,

Sounds like you have some sort of URL rewriting gone haywire. Did you install GT NextGen or GoogleTap or TegoNuke? |

What URL do you want to use? bkkok.com or www.bkkok.com. Assuming you choose bkkok.com, check that Preferences has http://bkkok.com and in Forums Configuration it has just bkkok.com. Make sure there is nothing after each of these.
Lets start there and see (hope) if is that easy. |

I've managed to straighten out the notification email problem... not exactly sure how though. I set SMTP mail delivery in the forum, and tweaked some of the forum configuration settings- turned off visual confirmation, automatic logons, and more. Problem seems resolved now.
I've still go the issue about the inability to create stickies / announcements, and further realized that I don't have the "add a poll" to a post either.
Also... if this wasn't enough to drive me crazy, I've realized that the quote function does not work for admins. When I try to reply to a post with a quote, it displays the raw bbcode. The quote will work only if I remove the name from the opening quote tag. Quote works fine for members.
I've had a thought... need some advisement. I've got two websites with RaveNuke downgrades from 7.8, both with PHPBB 2.0.21. Essentially, they are configured identically. One site works fine- stickies / announcements polls are no problem.
What if... I copied the whole modules/forums folder from the working site to the non-working one? Is it worth trying, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Additionally- the "good" website has the same quote issue.
Any direction / or advisement would be most welcome! |

It could be a file issue, you can always try it. Make a backup first. |

Good news- I made backups, copied the files, and didn't break anything.
Bad news- no difference. Didn't fix anything either.
I'm still struggling to figure this out... any more input or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Evaders....
No- I hadn't thought to do that, so I just opened both windows side by side and went down the list... making the problematic site exactly the same settings as the good one.
Changes were Incosequentail- so I thought... poll options set to 10 instead of 8, 100 topics per page set to 50.
Anyway... it worked. Restored the polls / stickies announcements!
Thanks for the idea / motivation.
Quote function still isn't working for me as admin.... any idea for me?

Spot on Tao man! It worked!
I've tried the PHPBB forum many times, but their search engine doesn't work for me. Always returns no results.
Much appreciated!
