OK I have installed the latest Raven Nuke and I am at work right now and I tried to access my website, The site was working from home last night so the first thing I thought I was hacked, I searched this forum and found lots of info on hacking, I NEED to update nuke Sent and the forums. I will have questions about that in another topic. Well when I searched this site for the phrase You are using an Invalid IP to access this site! I found some topics and I read most, I have found out that I will need to edit a file. My question is about the HowToInstall file, under troublshooting I found the following

I installed everything but when I try to access my site I get this message: You are using an Invalid IP to access this site!
[A] This normally happens when running the system on your desktop (localhost/127.0.0.1). It is a safety feature to keep people from trying to access your site w/o a valid IP. We have added a setting in config.php named $bypassNukeSentinelInvalidIPCheck and set the default value to FALSE. When running on your local machine (or wherever your test site is) you can set the value to TRUE in order to have NukeSentinel™ bypass that check. Please note that this should only be used when testing locally and not in a production environment.

My question is should I just leave it the way it is or change it to where people without IP's can have access to the site, RAVEN what are the pros and cons I mean you coded that for a reason. Is it a security function and should it stay the way it is

If you were trying to access your site from work and the site is conventially hosted then it appears your work IP is invalid or is blocked from being seen. In this instance everything is working as it should - you do not really want to allow access to anything where the IP is witheld.

If your running the site on your local box (not in a conventional 'hosted' environment) then again this is behaving as it should.

Thank you for the reply, my site is hosted at Godaddy.com and I do not have my site running on my home computer for testing. I am at work right now and I wanted to check the stats of my site. So in your Opinion you think I should keep everything the same. I will probably keep it the same because people with blocked IP's are probably the bad guys. Thanks again

Make sure you have imported all the latest IP2C data - specifically the 'Unknown' and ICANN Reserved ones.

I had the same problem with some of my members on my site and thats how I fixed it. UPDATE your IP2C listings since a lot of new IP ranges were released but are most likely listed as "Reserved" in your IP2C db table.
