My boss has been asking about Joomla. At the moment I'm using RavenNuke and the boss has asked why we don't use Joomla. I said it's more secure.. But I don't really know that much about Joomla.
Should I give it a try or stick with RavenNuke.
Thoughts? |

nice question indeed...
i cant tell you what to do...
i know a few others that turned to joomla...
simple explained...
nuke and joomla are both differently written.
You cant say its more secure cause joomla aint nuke...
joomla isnt realy vunerable for attacks and doesnt need security script.
but keep in mind that 3d party developers make nuke vunerable to,not just FB.
but if your boss wants on joomla then you dont have much choice....lol
in that case you can always contact me. |

First impressions of Joomla are good and I've played around with a test site. It's certainly easy to setup, but there is very little support. So if you don't know much about PHP you might struggle if you have any problems.
There's no harm in giving it a try, I'm sure you'll like it, but you can't beat the support you get here!
There was a thread which discussed some of the pros and cons previously, take a look here: http://www.ravenphpscripts.com/postxf10945-0-0.html |

Joomla isn't really vulnerable for attacks??

No software is perfect. While Joomla has a much better record (unlike FB's phpNuke junk code), it is still a high target. Mostly, I think Joomla is better for those who want to use it 'straight out of the box'
I like phpNuke because it is much easier to customize. Joomla is very organized, but very hard for the simple tweakers. |

Some have said it's "over-organized." But that would appeal to some and frustrate others. |

To add to evaders99 post:
Quote: | Affected By 8 Secunia advisories
Unpatched 0% (0 of 8 Secunia advisories)
Most Critical Unpatched
There are no unpatched Secunia advisories affecting this product, when all vendor patches are applied. |
All the advisories have been patched by the VENDOR. 0% Unpatched. That says quite a bit for the developers. |
