shotokan, I can find nothing materially different between the file you sent me and what is working out on the ravennuke site.
Does this do this every time and with different posts? (I.e., have you tested by replying to different posts?) Also, is it both in PM and in Forums?
I can honestly say that I may be stumped on this one... |

montego, Yes i just did try that.
Everytime i quote someone (Forum or PM) for different post the quote=user does not work.
Well i don't know php or nuke very well but might be another code that is causing it. The only think i don;t know is that when it was working i was using 2.0.20 and i did the upgrade to 2.0.21 and then 2.0.22 without testing on 2.0.21 so i really don't if the one that caused the issue was the .21 or .22 release of the bbtonuke.
EDIT: Ok, while you trying to help me here is what i am going to do:
1 - I will make a copy of the site running the 2.0.20 which is working right now and put that somewhere else;
2 - i will do the updates i did to get to the 2.0.22 one by one and test to see exactly where the problem starts because like said i did upgrade the bbtonuke but i also upgra to the 3.3 patch file first.
3 - S0 i will upgrade to patch 3.3 then bbtonuke2.0.21 and then 2.0.22 and see what happens. |

shotokan, I am not sure how to help you. This is working just fine on our own installation of this, so something else is not right. I just don't have a clue where / what that would be. |

Montego, That's ok and i am really greatful for the time you took to look into this already.
I will try those update one by one and try to at least identify which one really create the issue, so when i have that information i will update this thread so maybe you can help me again. |

Mr. Montego,
It took a while for me to do this process step by step like i've promissed but I did. It was a lot of work to try to isolate the issue.
I create a new copy of my site version 7.8 patched 3.2 and forums 2.0.20. At this stage the QUOTE was working fine.
After that I upgrade only the patch file to version 3.3 and then test the site and forums again. Everything worked fine including the QUOTES.
After that I upgrade the forums to bbtonuke 2.0.21 and the QUOTE issue appeared again and is not working anymore. When I quote someone the quoted message all messed up like that:
Code:
[quote="Mantis"]Assim: (cool)
ou assim: (sux)?
Acerta a parada ae Shoto.[/quote]
|
EDIT: One more info.
I made it work now but i need you help to let me know why:
I decided to move the functions_post.php from 3.3 patch file back and the quote problem disappear.
But when I put the functons_post.php from the bbtonuke2021 back again the quote problem showed up again.
Here are the codes
From the bbtonuke 2.0.21
http://home.comcast.net/~sossai/bbtonuke2021-functions_post.php
From the 3.3 patch files
http://home.comcast.net/~sossai/functions_post.php
There must be a difference on these two codes that causes the quote+user not to work.
I will wait on the coding experts now. |

But, that is the known issue. Try now upgrading to 2.0.22. The issue should go away. |

I can do that but I though the quote was an issue on the 2.0.20 and not the 2.0.21.
So you think te 2.0.22 will not the the problem? What about the difference on the codes? Have you look to see what really causes the problem? If the problem is found maybe someone could fix the 2.0.21 pack files. |

Ah, you might be right. Evaders will have to answer that one for sure. All I know, like I said, the latest RavenNuke 2.10 release (due out soon), is using 2.0.22.
By the way, why would anyone go back and fix the 2.0.21 patchset when there is a later one out? You should always be up on the latest set of patches IMO. |

Yes i think so but if he founds and correct at least people upgrading to 2.0.21 will not have the issue adn will not spend time like i did.
The problem is when i did this same exercise but upgrading to 2.0.21 and right after to 2.0.22 the problem was there because these packages does not contains the same files. So i still think would be good to fix the 2.0.21 files. |

My point being why would someone only upgrade to 2.0.21 when there is a later patch out there? It does not make sense to update the old patches as the patches are cumulative. That is just standard procedure.
Glad you are back to working. |

Ahhh. I thought you had to do one by one and not go straight to the last one. That's why a had the issue when i upgrade the 2.0.22 was released already but since i ws at 2.0.20 I did .21 and then .22 withiut knowing i could do directly to 2.0.22.
Anyway thank you for the feedbacks. |

Please do not misunderstand me. (My mistake I'm sure.) You MUST upgrade the database one patch at a time.
I think Evaders needs to answer whether the script files also need to be done one at a time. Somewhere I got the impression the files were cumulative. I might be wrong there.
However, the point is still, why would you stop at 2.0.21 when 2.0.22 is out. There is no need to go back and correct 2.0.21, which is what I was really responding to.
Sorry about that. |

That's ok but i think i am not being clear too.
I did all this because when i did the upgrade for the first time i did not stop at 2.0.21. I actually did all of them one at time until 2.0.22 and that's when i got the problem.
So after all you help and not being able to fix i decided to go back and do one by one just to try to isolate the problem and fin out which one was really creating the issue, and i found that was the 2.0.21 causing it.
Now there is no need for anybody to do that, i just did to find where the problem was. In other words if some one is running 2.0.20 like i was and to the two upgrades 2.0.21 and 2.0.22 in sequence like I did before, they will get the same issue i did.
Thank you and trust me i really appreciate your time talking to me here. |

I've not had a problem when everythings updated all the way to BBToNuke 2.0.22.
Mmm one thing you could try is disabling HTML tags in the Forums Configuration, if you had that enabled. phpBB does some different filtering with HTML |

Well i really did not had any big issue. Like mentioned here the only thing i notice was when using the feature to "quote" another person on the post.
The quote would not work properly and show everything as it was only one text as i showed few posts above.
The rest everything went fine. Also like i said i could figure out that the code that caused that quote problem was the functions_post.php that came with the 2.0.21 as you can see above when I put the old functions_post.php back again everything worked fine.
But this is old news and i am happy with everything working i was just trying to give some info about this situation i got. |

evaders99, if someone was going from say 2.0.20 to 2.0.22, I know that they have to execute the db updates from 2.0.20 to 2.0.21 and then 2.0.21 to 2.0.22, but are the patch files (.php files) cumulative or do these also have to be applied in sequence? |

Ok Mr Evaders adn Montego
I was again trying to determine what is going on here and find what might be causing the issue but the problme is i am not a php guru.
Anyway i got the functions_post.php from the 2.0.21 and previous to that is start looking into it.
Well everytime i put the one previous from the 2.0.21 i had not issues with the QUOTES, then right after overriding this with the same code from the 2.0.21 pack the issue appear again.
Comparing the code i found these lines to be a little different comparing the code from 2.0.21 and the one i had before.
This line belong to the functions_post.php from the bbtonuke2.0.21NP pack from nukeresources.com
Code:$html_entities_match = array('#&(?!(\#[0-9]+;))#', '#<#', '#>#', '#"#');
|
This line belong to the functions_post.php i had before installing bbtonuke2.0.21 pack
Code:$html_entities_match = array('#&(?!(\#[0-9]+;))#', '#<#', '#>#');
;
|
They look almost the same excet for the code from the bbtonuke2.0.21NP pack has this '#"#' at the end of the line and the previous one don't. So i just eliminate that small difference from the code and placed again the source from the 2.0.21pack on my site and believe or not the probles disappeared.
I have not idea what that can affect the quoting thing but doing that i could have the most current code there and eliminate the issue.
I also hadthe same quote issue on the private messages so i looked for something similiar and line problem on the found into modules/private_messages/index.php the same line of code
Code:$html_entities_match = array('#&(?!(\#[0-9]+;))#', '#<#', '#>#', '#"#');
| which i again remove the '#"#' portion and vuala the quote issue disappeared from the private messages too. |

This is fine... but, 2.0.21 is superceded by 2.0.22, so this is a non-issue IMO. |

THat's is not the way I see it because the program in question /includes/functions_post.php that has the problem does not come with the 2.0.22 pack so even after installing the 2.0.22 this issue will be there. |

Ok, I am done with this thread. Evaders is the patch expert here, so if he feels inclined to dig into this further with you he can. All I know is what I said: the new RavenNuke 2.10.00 release is 2.0.22 and this works, so I don't really know what else I can say. |

If the package name has NP at the end, this indicates the files are for a 'patched' site (the patches that Chatserv provides).
Edit (By G): Actually, I think it's the other way around but Evaders would know for sure. |

shotokan, no worries m8. I am not upset. I just know that the only way for this to get resolved is to have Evaders involved with this as he has more control of the patchsets than I do. That is all. |

I believe Chatserv labels the files for patched Nukes with NP. At least I've always grabbed the BBtoNuke NP files. |

Right. NP is for Nuke Patched.
However, I prefer the original Core edit myself... much closer to the original phpBB code.
At any rate, I have not seen any problems with upgrades up to 2.0.22. The change from 2.0.21 is something that phpBB Group did. My files have that code and it seems to be working correctly.
I will look into the matter further. |
