I had problems in the past with the security code not appearing so I had to opt for loading it separately using a gfx.php file as documented at this link.

http://www.nukeforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=14550

This has worked fine for a long time until yesterday when the random security number has stopped refreshing. Consequently users couldn't log in to the site. I have disabled the code meantime in config.php.

This is strange as I had made no changes. I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction regarding this problem.

Well spotted hitwalker. My hosting company have introduced a high security feature for php and after turning register_globals on in the php.ini the security image refreshed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Go raibh maith agat!

Usually the security feature is to turn register_globals off. But that shouldn't affect phpNuke because Nuke uses a bypass called import_request_variables
