I noticed I'm getting a significant percentage of my traffic enetering and exiting on my Nuke Amazon pages, without buying anything. Looking into this further, I found out that a significant portion of my search engine listings is composed of my amazon pages with no relation whatsoever to my site content.

For some reason it does not make me happy, and while I'm really struggling for traffic, I need good traffic, not a random one.

Options I think I have:

1. Leave it alone
2. Remove Nuke Amazon from my site
3. Remove shortlinks(tm) from Amazon links
4. Block Amazon in robots.txt

There might be other options I did not think about.

Any advice will be appreciated Smile

ok i dont mind giving my opinion in this...
personaly i would say dump it....

amazon only works if you have the right visitors / members.
i tried the amazon mod for some time and only did bad instead of good.
it does generate weird traffic but like you know now not related to your site.

i like clean traffic to my server and that took me 5 or 6 months to accomplish that.

I put amazon into my robots.txt file, so crawlers ignore it.
As for good or bad, it mostly depends of your visitors.
Having a recipes sites, I get conversions on kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, and home products but it's about one click every 1000 visits and a sale every 10000.

Thanks for your replies, guys. Yeah, my experience with amazon is devastating, too. No single buy or conversion ever. Crying or Very sad

Still, I don't think I want to dump it altogether - I really don't know yet if my audience will buy something, cause I just have a handfull of active memebers so far Rolling Eyes

So, I think I leave it active, but restrict it in robots.txt

Thanks, guys, you helped me to make up my mind Smile
