Birthday hack issues...

I'm trying to install the Birthday hack from this site:

Following the directions, it says to run http://www.yourdomain.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=birthday_db_update; however, when I try to run that I get an error message stating:

You are not Authorised to do this

So I'm assuming I need to add the SQL entries myself; however, being a noob at this, can anybody help? I tried seeking help on the rogbbtonukemods boards; however, when trying to past the code so people could tell me what SQL queries to run NukeSentinel banned me (DOH)...so can anybody help here?

I'm not pasting the file again for fear of another site banning me, LOL...

You MUST be logged in as the GOD admin to run that file.

That's the problem, I AM logged on...I only have one account, it is set as the GOD admin account and it still will not let me run the script...that's what I don't understand.

OK, I believe I discovered the issue...have to reinstall the mod to see if it will work though. The problem I believe is when I went to the forums, I was labelled as a Moderator...looking in the table the User_Level was set to 3 (Moderator)...so changed to a 2.

Not sure if that's exactly the issue, more to come, hehehe...

Mithoron, I believe that you are confusing your normal user login from your admin one. You must be logged in as the GOD admin which means you have successfully logged in to:

http://yourdomain/admin.php

What you have changed above has only affected your normal user login id and I would put that user level back to what it was.

Is from the mod you are trying to use. IF you only have a nuke site it will NOT work. Is that the case? I believe that it might be. If so, you will have to restore any altered files you created with the originals. You will also have to remove any file which you added with your mod install.

OK, got the mod to work...it actually does work with the latest RavenNuke.

montego, That does not seeom to be the case as even logged on as GOD it would not let me run that script. As stated above the actual fix was the PHPBB boards had me labelled as a Moderator in the SQL database, not as Admin (and yes, I could still access admin.php page...go figure). Changing the table properly fixed this issue. Only have one Admin account for simplicity sake, so again, not exactly sure what is up with this one, but it's working now.

Now the only problems I have is tweaking, hehehe. Right now you either put in ALL the information or none...and trying to modify the script (with what meager skills I have) to not have to require the year.

A lot of people don't mind their birthday's being known, but don't want the year of birth due to identity theft and whatnot...

Anybody recommend a better Birthday mod to use with the boards that doesn't require you to input your year? Be glad to change to something else, hehehe...

I would be very careful using that mod on your nuke site. It is only created for platnum or he would not have written that in the read me. You are liable to find issues using it as time goes on. There is one for nuke. You can find it on my website. I have never personally used this mod so I cannot assit you in removing the year. I wish you the best of luck.

Not opposed to using a different Birthday mod...it was one of the few I could find at the time!
