Starting a site, and it came with PHP-Nuke 8.0, so that's what I have to work with...but the highest version of NSN Groups I can find is for 7.8.
Is there an 8.0 distribution or does the "NSN_Groups_171_71-78" distribution work with 8.0?
I don't want to go through the trouble of editing all the files and whatnot to have the site crash, hehehe.
And if not, does anybody have any other Group modules that are 8.0 compatible? I'm trying to arrange groups on the site which various access to modules/blocks as with NSN Groups...and hate the way 8.0 does it by "points"...and cannot figure out how to add people to each group other than attempting to inflate their points.
Thanks in advance for the replies! |

If you are just starting out with the site, I do not understand why you have to stick with 8.0, but that is your call.
Unfortunately, you are going to have just give the edits a try. I just don't know what FB has done to 8.0 to the various files. Save off a copy of each file that you are going to edit so that if when you are done, things do not work quite right, you can undo things.
However, keep in mind that NSN Groups requires a new field be added to nuke_messages, nuke_blocks and nuke_modules, so if you backout, you will need to remove the added field called "groups" too. |

It was probably installed through the control panel.
Mithoron, NSN Groups is the only other group function that would provide this functionality. It is integrated with the forum groups functions.
Since it's already integrated into RavenNuke (the latest version is available on this site), you might want to consider using that. It's easy to install and the support is excellent. |

Correct, the site was installed via the host services control panel.
I'm not opposed to switching over to RavenNuke (especially since this function is built in and it's the main thing I want, LOL)...the host service doesn't require you to use PHP-Nuke, it was just included with the hosting services.
I do have one question, can I still retain the posts from the forum (PHPBB 2.0.22) or will I have to start from scratch there? The easiest method the better...so if completely waxing the site and starting RavenNuke from scratch is the easiest, can do that...was just hoping to try to keep things as they were...but as I said, if it's a pain to convert over to maintain the forums, can just nuke the whole thing and start fresh, hehehe...
Again, appreciate the replies and help! |

You can keep the posts. The Forum is still version 2.0.22 in RN 2.10. |
