I am using pc-nuke 7.9031e and have a problem with the topics. When adding a new topic, all topic images are missing from the dropdown menu. So, if I edit a topic, it removes the image associated with it. I have to manually edit the DB to list the topic image. I am able to see the images on the news postings, but the topics administration is broken and does not allow images to be associated with a topic. How do i fix this?
Why are the topic images so small on the main admin topic page? Is there a way to remove the size restriction?
Also, how do I allow links to open in new windows. I have added target to both my allowable HTML array and to the News config, but still am unable to add links that contain the target attribute to news postings. I do have blocks and content pages with links that open in a new window, so I am pretty sure nuke is not stripping this attribute everywhere. Everytime I post a new story with a link that opens in a new window, the attribute target="_blank" is stripped away. How do I fix this? |

Just to clarify: are you using NSN News 2.0 with 7.9?
Re "allow links to open in new windows" - which links? Just the Read More links? Since those links are added by users, but are built into the News module, Nuke can not strip them, nor is there any need to add target to the allowable HTML. |

Yes, I am using NSN News 2.0 with 7.9 w/ patched 3.1.
The links I am referring to are the links a user adds with in a posting. We often post images and links to external sites within our news postings and would like to send users to those other sites without them leaving ours as well.... |

Ah. There is currently no way to enforce that. The configuration of NSN determines whether to open the Read More link on the index page in a new window.
Adding that to the submit function would be useful, I think. |

I think you might be misunderstanding the links and the problem I am having. I am not referring to the read more or any other links from the module. I am talking about the link a user would post for lets say more information on an external site. So, when we create a news posting that says check out Raven Web Services at Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! we can set that url to open in a new window.
We also often post pre-created HTML, which we format, validate and set a href tags to include the target="_blank" attribute. The target="_blank" attribute of the a href tag is being stripped off, but only in the news module. This occurs if I post HTML into a submit news page, or update the DB entry for that posting with the correct HTML. During both instances, the target attribute does not display.
Also, any thoughts on the topic image problem as mentioned above...? |

I understand your point perfectly. I'm simply saying that the current software can only be configured to open the Read More link on a new window. It does not enforce that links inside the news story open in a new window.
NSN News has it's own mechanism for validating HTML - which is why it's stripping off the target attribute. It doesn't use the standard $allowable_html variable.
Not sure about the topic images...is there some sort of configuration for this in the NSN News administration? |

So, where or what file is the target="_blank" attribute actually being removed? Can I simply comment out the line of code that causes this? |

Good question. If I had time to review the code, I might be able to find it... |
