Been a rough 5 weeks .... so far

My brother (53 years old) began to have issues about 5 months ago but told no one, nor did he go to the discuss it with his doctor whom he visited for other things. About 3 mths ago he started having balance problems and slurred speech. Unfortunately, everyone attributed it to drinking since he drank 4-5 drinks everyday. His co-workers were getting angry at him saying he wasn't holding up his own at work (small startup company - 8 employees). About a month ago he had a coughing fit and got into an accident on the main roads. We then talked him into seeing a doctor.

Long story shortened, he was diagnosed with a giant brain aneurism which was right up against his brain stem. He went into surgery to put a clamp on a artery to lessen the pressure. All seemed well until 40 hours later he went into a coma and it was determined the aneurism or some other artery burst. The bleeding cause extensive damage to his brain stem. After many days of testing, it was determined that no signals were going past the brain stem. He directed me in his Advance Directive to have him removed from life support if 2 or more doctors agreed that there was virtually no possibility of a meaningful recovery. I did so. That was very hard on me. He passed away, without Jesus, Saturday Sept 1. I will miss him very much - I already do.

Truly sorry for your loss. I lost a Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! to a brain aneurism during a medically induced coma, who was only 16 years old at the time. I understand your pain, even though it's been 5 years, it still took me 4 attempts to get thru this short reply.. Stay strong in these difficult times.

Very sorry to hear of this as well, Doulos. I wish that I had words to comfort as I know how difficult this is for you. Hang in there.

Now to top it all off someone broke into his house, and stole his 2005 GMC pickup.

Satan and his demons always take advantage of a believer's grief as you well know. We are sorry for your loss as it is satan's gain, but for a moment. His head wound is fatal and we can rejoice in knowing that! Stay strong my brother!
