My take on the matter:
The most frequently commented critisisms of phpNuke that I have heard are:
- The presentation of "content" is basically non-existant or "not user friendly" at best.
- The navigation module sucks. Very ugly.
- 2 major pieces of functionality that many people want are glaringly missing: an events calendar and a photo gallery.
- Adding content is difficult for non-html gurus. A WYSIWYG editior is needed.
Going with those ideas, I propose that the following items would make great additions:
- add the latest version of Sommaire Parametable Menu
- an event calendar module
- a photo gallery.
- an html editor
- a content nav module (see below)
On the topic of content nav modules, does such a thing exist?
If not, one is needed. Basically, it would have dynamic html with expandable list of caregories. Clicking a category would show a list of subcategories and/or article titles. Not terribily difficult for a php/javascript programmer that has some time on their hands (which excludes me)
To present content, I basically have to add a menu item within Sommaire Parametable Menu called "articles" then create a sub item for each major article in the site, and hard code a link to it within the menu. Not a good solution.
Basically, the presentation of content in phpNuke in general is pretty lame, considering that the "purpose" of phpNuke is as a CMS (i.e. for Content Management)
But I digress... Anyway, that is my vote for features |

From the site:
"Where can I get it and is it free?
You can download jIRC applet for free and install it in your web site. If you find it useful, please register it. Registration fee is only $US49.99.
Each web site you deploy jIRC applet on, requires a licese key. Starting from version 2.42, jIRC applet will compare the applet host name and the registered host name, so you will need license key for each web site you installed your jIRC applet.
By registering the applet, you will be able to modify some of the wordings on the applet and have access to some advance configurations later when available."
So, I'm not sure, download for free but using it....
its no 8, not on my priority list, and doesnt work with firefox, one of the more popular browsers atm. |

The problem with #8 is ... and yes I've used it and it's a great program if you have the license... if you use an unregistered version you'll get a line following everything you type with "this is an unregistered version please register at ..."
It's not registered by serial it's registered to your own domain if you register it. |

About #8 ... isn't it possible to pre deliver the code somewhat?
Like ... there are a lot of chat applets out ... a lot free ... all java.
So the module or whatever is used for it already contains the basic code and all you have to do is add the java applet code between a few lines.
Code: <?php blahblahblah
// your java applet here
// PASTE YOUR STUFF HERE
// end of java applet
echo more php code blahblahblah
?>
|
The applet stuff is usually given on the chat homepage which you yes or no register to. |
