I found a nuke-to-phpBB2 script to convert a php-nuke database to
straight phpBB2 (standalone). Here is the script: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=141446&package_id=155615
My question is will this script work in converting RN 2.10.01 database to
phpBB2?....or does 2.10.01 need to be downgraded to phpn 7.6 first?
My hopes here is that someone may have tried this and knows if it works.
If not, then I can check the phpBB forum. |

Well, I have not used that script directly, but here's my thoughts...
RN does not alter the phpBB tables one bit. So all of the nuke_bb[whatever] tables will convert fine. The User table will be the problem. Compare the RN User table to a 7.6 user table. Any differences there will most likely break the script. I would just DROP any fields from the RN that are not in 7.6 (make a backup of the db and ONLY work from that backup, not the original db), then run the script.
You should be ok...

Interesting....I compared the nuke_user table in 7.6 and RN side by side and they
are identical except in RN there are 2 extra fields at the end called: "
user_login_tries"
and "user_last_login_try"
I have nothing but "0's" in those field anyway. Maybe these are used by
Sentinel or something.
Also, in the users_temp table, RN has 1 extra field called "requestor" |

Well, I can tell you from working quite a bit with native 7.6, that those two tables are not necessary. Make a mirror of the database, drop those two tables, drop the unnecessary field in users_temp, and then run the converter. If it doesn't work out, let me know and I'll fix the script. users_temp is not a table that will be converted anyways, it is not used in standalone phpBB. The field user_active inside of the users table is used for activating accounts by admin or email activation.

Glad you got it without any hassles! One thing you should check on is the user_id for Anonymous... if it's not correct for standalone phpBB, your permissions might start acting up. I don't think they ever changed it, so it should be -1. Check to make sure the script did that for you.
Best,
