I dunno I bought a diesel because I thought I'd be doing what I could efficiancy wise. Paid at least $10,000 more for it then a comparable gas engined truck. I use a Corn Stove to supplement our heat. If big brother wants to install yet another gadget (trucks got onstar already grr!) he can kiss my pimpled backside right smack in the brown eye!

I've modified my driving habits as much as I'm going to. Driving, cruising, site seeing, sunday drives were all favorite pass times that I've givin up. I'm not about to car pool to the grocery store. If I have to a throw a harness on the horse and pull the dayum thing to the grocery store!

But I'm guessing most of you knew what my reaction would be by now lol!

They're running trials already in the UK but not for fuel consumption, they are tracking people to see if it helps bring down their motor insurance policies.

What they're doing over here in the UK as well is, trying to pass a bill to charge people per mile to use their cars instead of paying road tax. Fine if you live in a City, not so good if you live out in the country.

I'm surprised our politicians haven't thought of this fuel check over here.

Evil or Very Mad

What they want to do is spend their time and money on catching criminals rather than harrassing the motorists.

And as for keeping old cars off the road, what ever country it is, that would mean the end of the Classic clubs because most classic cars are over 25yrs old. (my car in my avatar was 26 last April)

Bring on the revolution!

I bet we received the idea for what you guys are doing Muffin.

If they really want to know how much gas I'm using they can tell at the pump. I fill my Jeep up (she's 17 as of March) once a month. So I think I do pretty good about not driving a lot. But alas, that is not true when I go off roading and fill up everyday Twisted Evil but still the creeps can tell at the pump what my consumption is better then by GPS.

To me it seems more and more like Big Brother is becoming a reality, and I don't like that. That book scared me!

I drive an electric motorcycle. See the picture. I have a gps to track mileage and speed. I don't want the government to track my mileage in order to assess any type of tax. In California they are considering tracking mileage to assess a gas tax per mile for people who use hybrid cars. I ride a strictly electric only motorcycle. No!
