hey guys this is my first time using php nuke and first time using a CMS so sorry for being a newb
ok this is what happened:
i was browsing a site and i seen that it had nukesentinal on it..so i read up about it and it looked like a good idea for me to install it.. so i downloaded it then decompressed it.. then uploaded all the files and renamed sample.htaccess to .htaccess and same with stacess... but as soon as i renamed them .. they disappeared.. hmm strange?
so i uploaded the sample.htaccess and staccess fles again and changed the permissions to 666 then renamed them and the still dissapeared.. wierd..
so i continued on..following everything in the readme...
i went to the nsnst.php and chose new install .. and everything seemed to work.. so i went to administration on the webpage and i got a login box saying: (please enter username and password for "restricted" at mydomain.com.. wierd?
so i enter my username and password.. error
........Authorization Required
This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. .......
hmmmmm wtf.. so i thaught this may be because i diddnt finish what the readme said to do.. so i go back to the read me and start to edit the ADMIN.PHP, JAVASCRIPT.PHP, HEADER.PHP and the MAINFILE.PHP files like the read me says to do...
after i finished i went to my wepage and.. FFS it doesnt load >.<
so i read in the readme it says "If you have problems with pages not loading try moving the above insert to just before" so i moved the code like it says.. and it still doesnt load >>..<<<<<<<<
ok by now i was a bit angry and confused so i desided to uninstall it..
i took the steps that the readme says..
i removed all the extra codes i added to the ADMIN.PHP, JAVASCRIPT.PHP, HEADER.PHP and the MAINFILE.PHP files and then i deleted all the files/folders that came with nukesentinal except the folder
"nsnst_installer" and the file "nsnst.php"
the last step it says to do is go to www.mydomain.com/nsnst.php.. so i do that and .... page doesnt load....
im stuck guys and i really dont know what to do.. im new to this so .. be nice
Thx in advance. |

First of all you should read the README before installing any software, but esepcially software that you are unfamiliar with. Next, read the posts in the NukeSentinel forums as your issues are dealt with there. I know this sounds harsh but it isn't, really. Those 2 files were renamed for a purpose. Had we wanted everyone to just use them out odf the box then we wouldn't have renamed them |

what raven means is that you should look at the nuke sentinel forums to see if the solution is in there...and yes...this is the sentinel forums..
As you wrote :
so i uploaded the sample.htaccess and staccess fles again and changed the permissions to 666 then renamed them and the still dissapeared..
Thats because of your ftp settings.
Most ftp clients have a setting ..."show hidden files"
Use that and you can see the mentioned htaccess and staccess files.. |
