First: I don't work for Skype or Radio Shack.

If you use any PC VoIP and live in the US, find the nearest Radio Shack and get one (or 3) of these: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2165389&cp

At $5, it provides pretty decent sound quality like a specialty conference phone. It's great for letting multiple people in the same room use a computer-based VoIP application like Skype.

It originally listed at US$40, but apparently Radio Shack overestimated the demand and is clearing them at $5. You can buy the same thing on Amazon for about $30. Polywell / Polycom sells one for $100.

We have one on each computer and one in the laptop bag...unobtrusive, simple (plug it in, change your Skype settings and conference!).
