As you know, I offer a hack to the Downloads module that allows you to protect/restrict certain files to registered users only. Well, what if you want to allow all visitors to see the downloads but only registered users to actually download them? See this post.

Ever have the need to protect only certain downloads to registered users only? Well, this programming hack (no database changes) will easily let you do that! Simply replace one function in the Downloads module with this, add the download that you want protected, and you're done! Get it in the Download's area.

Well, I decided to release the topics hack that I am using on my site, yakster.net. This is a simple hack of the PHP-Nuke 6.5 topics module. I found the original Topics module to be very bland looking, so I hacked the module to make it more visually appealing. I know for sure that it works on 6.5 and 6.7 (it might work on other versions)

I have a hack that I just put together for this. For anyone wanting to have a site where the user is automatically registered and activated, this will do it! It is a very small hack that is simple to install. Get it from the downloads section in Modules.

I have left it up to the admins to modify the _YOUWILLRECEIVE message that is in the language files folder. Or, seacrh for _YOUWILLRECEIVE in Your_Account/index.php and just mask it out.
